Colour you blind

Written by Ayesha Najma Musaliar | Photograph by Ayesha Najma Musaliar
A poem on the plight of LGBTQ's,on compassion and empathy for those fighting demons we cannot see.

I am not black, nor am I white.
I am more, than what was thought "Right".
I am grey, with the purpose of yellow.
As of today, I am a rainbow.

I may look green as most trees do, but I feel sad and I feel blue.
Underneath my brown bark, I hide what is true.
I hide because I fear,
that I am not, like you.
