Working with Artists for Change

Founded and run by dancer Aparna Nagesh, High Kicks Dance Ensemble is one of Chennai's most empathetic arts groups. They use art for social change, and create meaningful pieces that present the confluence of powerful dance choreography with social issues that leaves viewers thinking. We worked with them on a workshop for an upcoming show called "Who Am I?" and led them through an understanding of sex, gender, sexual orientation, essentialism, and intersectionality. Here are two snapshots from the session.
